8vo. 7.5 x 4.5 inches. 310 + [1] pp. In pink card wrappers. Some wear to extremities with a little loss along edges of spine, which is lightly sunned. Small ink stain on fore edge, but otherwise a very good copy. Decorated by publisher's device on title page. D. H. Lawrence wrote the novel which became Lady Chatterley's Lover, three times in Florence, 1926-27 and each version was a separate work. This is an early edition of The First Lady Chatterley, published in Paris and Bern by Phoenix and marked not for import into the British Empire or the USA, where the title was still banned.
