8vo. 7.25 x 5 inches. 234 + [6] pp. publisher's advertisements. In pictorial buff paper wrapper, with black titles and advertisements on inside and rear wrapper. Extremities worn and spine chipped. Some foxing of page edges, scattered elsewhere; otherwise a very good copy. Illustrated by wood engraved text figures. Title first published 1916, when Robert Baden-Powell founded the Wolf Cubs as a junior section of the Scouting movement, for boys aged eight to eleven. It emphasises character and patriotism and the development of useful skills. Its rituals are based on the Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling.
